Can any vehicle be colour changed with vinyl wrap?

Accepted Answer

Many vehicles are suitable, provided the paintwork is sound and stable. Failing clear coat, peeling or flaking paint, rust, heavy oxidation and badly deteriorated surfaces may not be suitable for wrapping. We’ll assess the vehicle before booking.

Can a vehicle with faded, peeling or damaged paint be wrapped?

Accepted Answer

Not always. The paint needs to be sound and stable for a wrap to adhere and later be removed safely. Faded paint may be suitable after assessment, but peeling, flaking, rusted or badly deteriorated paint usually needs attention first.

Can colour change wrap be installed over repainted panels?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if the repaint is properly cured and in good condition. Aftermarket paint can carry a greater risk during installation or later removal, so we may need to inspect repainted panels before accepting the vehicle.

Will removing the wrap damage my original paint?

Accepted Answer

A professionally installed wrap is designed to be removable. Removal risk depends on the condition of the paint and any previous repairs. Sound factory paintwork is generally the best starting point; compromised or poorly refinished paint can carry more risk.

Do you wrap inside the door jambs?

Accepted Answer

Door jambs are not automatically included in every colour change wrap. Coverage is discussed and quoted around your vehicle and the finish you want, so we can agree on the scope before work begins.

Will the original vehicle colour still be visible anywhere?

Accepted Answer

It can be, depending on the vehicle and the agreed scope. Areas not included in the wrap, including some inner edges, jambs or concealed sections, may still show the original colour. We’ll explain the expected coverage before installation.

Do you remove handles, lights, badges and trims during installation?

Accepted Answer

Where required, handles, lights, badges and trims can be carefully removed for better access and finishing. The exact approach depends on the vehicle, the panel and what gives the best practical result.

How long does a full colour change wrap normally take?

Accepted Answer

For a full colour change, we generally ask customers to allow for the vehicle to be off the road for around a week. This allows time for proper preparation, installation, finishing and inspection before collection.

How long should I wait before washing the vehicle after installation?

Accepted Answer

We recommend waiting two weeks before washing your vehicle so the film and edges have time to settle. Normal rain and weather exposure after collection is fine; just avoid washing, pressure washing or working around the film during that initial period.

How should I wash and care for a colour change wrap?

Accepted Answer

Use quality automotive products that are suitable for vehicle wrap film, and remove contaminants such as bird droppings, insects and tree sap as soon as practical. Avoid abrasive products where inappropriate, and ask us if you are unsure about a product or method.

Can I use a pressure washer on a wrapped vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with sensible care. Avoid holding the pressure washer extremely close to the wrap or directing high-pressure water aggressively at exposed film edges. Normal careful pressure washing should not be a problem.

Accepted Answer

Yes, provided the products and methods are suitable for the specific wrap film and finish. Abrasive products should be avoided where inappropriate. We also offer HEXIS Nano Serum, an optional ceramic treatment designed for vehicle wrap films.

Often, yes. An individual panel or section can usually be removed and replaced without rewrapping the entire vehicle. We’ll inspect the damage and recommend the most practical way to restore the finish.

Yes. We have real film samples available to view, including options from HEXIS, 3M and Avery Dennison. Seeing samples in person is the best way to compare colours and finishes before making a final choice.

No. Colours shown on screen are indicative only and can vary with display settings, lighting and the vehicle underneath. We recommend viewing physical film samples before making your final selection.
